Basic Function To provide security support and assistance to MRIGlobal facilities, property, persons, and visitors under the governance of MRIGlobal policies and procedures as outlined, under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Security, the Physical Security Supervisor (PSS), and/or the Facility Security Officer (FSO).
The position is of high visibility and requires maturity, sound judgment, communications skills, and good temperament. The position interacts with internal and external customers, the general public, Institute visitors, government representatives, public service agencies and various law enforcement organizations. General duties include patrolling internal and external spaces; monitoring access control, alarm reporting and CCTV equipment; responding to incidents, emergencies, and special events; observation, reporting, and communication in both written and oral formats, providing accurate information on a host of issues and assisting the MRIGlobal staff with guidance in the areas of security cognizance.
Interacts with all levels of internal MRIGlobal staff, external customers, visitors, and emergency services and supports project work that influences client satisfaction and future work. Internal Process Accountabilities specific to this position: Conducts patrols to detect and report security incidents, safety hazards, and other unusual occurrences. Take appropriate actions to protect lives and property.
Monitors and operates access control system and CCTV cameras, utilizes and assists in the maintenance of multiple Security Department computer databases. Reports all security or safety-related problems or incidents promptly to the PSS/LSO/Director of Corporate Security and/or FSO and coordinates all consequent actions with the PSS/Director of Corporate Security and/or FSO and other Security staff members. At the Dr Martin Luther King campus, manages daily operation of the front lobby reception area to include such duties as access control, registration of visitors in the Visitor Management software system, receiving of visitors and issuance of appropriate visitor's badges, and monitoring and forwarding of incoming telephone calls. Requirements: U. S. Citizenship is required and the ability to successfully pass a U. S. Government investigation for a national security clearance. Additionally, this is an armed position and, where required, the ability to pass a firearms proficiency/qualification test administered by the local law enforcement regulatory agency. Salary Range $42,176 - $49,920 The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
