Essential Duties:
- Provides Quality Leadership to direct reports, peers, superiors in support of HDT mission statement and QMS Policy: "Total customer satisfaction through teamwork and continuous improvement in order to deliver quality solutions that confiorm to customer requirements on time, every time."
- Staffs, trains, equips and directs activities of quality assurance personnel including Quality Engineers, Quality Inspectors, Quality Technicians
- Identifies and justifies capital equipment and/or technology improvements
- Maintains, executes and improves the Quality Management System (QMS) using departmental and company resources.
- Holds department and company resources accountable in adherence to QMS policy & procedures.
- Reviews status of QMS, developing and implementing actions to improve and report out on these actions via management reviews and internal audits.
- Develops internal audit plans to review all QMS processes at least annually and leads the internal audit team to assure conformance to the plan.
- Leads external audits on 3rd party registrars to maintain ISO9000 or AS9100 certification.
- Manages all ERP related quality system & modules. Uses data to drive customer satisfaction and cost of poor quality improvement through the disciplined metrics management and team projects.
- Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigates and corrects customer issues and complaints relating to quality via a disciplined root cause/corrective action process.
- Supervises workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
- Formulates documents and maintains quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Interfaces and/or delegates support and engagement with Government Quality. Inspectors to ensure government quality requirements are achieved.
- Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.
- Works with product development teams to help define inspection requirements for new products.
- Provides directions in the creation, documentation and implementation of inspection criteria and procedures.
- Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
- Interacts with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts to drive supply chain quality.
- Maintains active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams
- Designs, develops and implements quality control training programs
- Facilitates ISO Management Review meetings with department heads and member of the executive staff
- Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Adheres to all quality and safety standards
- Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
- Available for limited travel

Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to speak, read and understand English
- Minimum seven years related experience required, supervisory/management experience, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques
- In depth knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
- Possess working knowledge of engineering principles and ability to apply them to inspection activities
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures and possess understanding of the use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection
- Quality audit experience desired
- Problem Solving Techniques
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively with management and personnel at all levels
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
- Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Experience in ERP systems, SAP desired
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors and employees/managers at all levels within the company
- Ability to maintain safe work environment
- Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
