Position: Entry-Level Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
We are looking for an entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain and repair equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of the plant. No previous experience with electrical systems is required, but familiarity with basic electrical concepts is a plus. You will work closely with a team of experienced technicians to learn and develop your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to keep production running smoothly and reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Help troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on equipment like conveyors, bearings, spray equipment, and basic machinery.
• Assist in the operation and upkeep of equipment used in the manufacturing process.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tag-out procedures.
• Work alongside senior technicians to learn about troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including basic wiring and using tools like multimeters.
• Assist with general repairs, including replacing parts or cleaning and lubricating equipment.
• Keep your work area clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained properly.
• Report any issues or unusual conditions to supervisors.
• Participate in safety training and follow all plant safety rules.
• Perform other tasks as needed to help maintain plant operations.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, conveyors, basic machines) is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic electrical concepts (e.g., using a multimeter) is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work well with others and follow instructions from senior technicians.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols (such as PPE and lockout/tag-out procedures).
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Good communication skills to report issues and work with others.

Required PPE includes: Safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and pants.

Must be available to work at any time, day (including weekends) and rotating shifts.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance and talk or hear.

About the location (Marshfield MO)

Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI), a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), is one of twenty AWI plants in North America.Our Marshfield plant in south western Missouriisconveniently located within 3 hours to large cities such as Tulsa, Kansas City, and St. Louis as well as within 30 minutes to thesmaller city of Springfield. However, it's rural attributes serve to also attract outdoorsmen and nature enthusiasts. Eight large lakes are within an hour's drive, two smaller lakesare within 30 minutes.
