Unlock the Power of Data at Pacific Life. We're seeking a talented Director, Actuarial Data to join our Pacific Life Team in Newport Beach, CA.
- This role is onsite in our Newport Beach Headquarters Office.
As a Director of Actuarial Data, you'll move Pacific Life-and your career-forward by leading the delivery of data solutions for the Actuarial and Reinsurance data domains. You will fill a new role within the Corporate Division as part of the Pacific Life Data organization. Your peers will include other data delivery leaders aligned to different business domains, as well as leaders of horizontal functions such as data platform, architecture, and governance. This is a high-impact, visible role that requires both strategic thinking and strong technical execution within a modern data ecosystem. How you'll help move us forward:
- Lead the delivery of enterprise-grade data solutions that align with business strategy and drive measurable outcomes across Actuarial and Reinsurance functions.
- Provide strategic and operational oversight of Agile delivery teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across business and technology to align priorities, manage delivery risk, and ensure business needs are translated into scalable, sustainable solutions.
- Enforce enterprise data architecture, engineering, and governance standards in collaboration with peers across the data organization.
- Champion data quality by embedding robust assurance processes and leading continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen trust in enterprise data assets.
- Advance modernization efforts by identifying opportunities for automation, platform optimization, and process simplification.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team, creating clear development pathways and fostering leadership at all levels.
The experience you bring:
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise data delivery, technology strategy, or architecture leadership, ideally within complex, regulated environments.
- Proven success developing and executing data strategy roadmaps that drive alignment between business and technology.
- Strong command of Agile methodologies, with demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary delivery teams and large-scale data initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across business, technology, and executive audiences.
What makes you stand out:
- Deep domain expertise in Actuarial, Reinsurance, or Hedging functions and data.
- Hands-on experience with modern data technologies and platforms such as Snowflake, DBT, and AWS.
- Background in delivering enterprise data solutions in the insurance or financial services sectors, with an emphasis on automation, scalability, and compliance.

Base Pay Range: The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$180,180.00 - $220,220.00
