Job Description

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Generalist provides daily HR support to the facility in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. This support includes but is not limited to: recruiting hourly employees to meet plant staffing requirements, including compliance with affirmative action plan requirements and I-9's. This individual is also responsible for the new hire onboarding process, including orientation, benefits administration, and employee record keeping in the office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit qualified candidates for all hourly positions to meet plant production requirements. Maintain tracking and reporting system.
  • Utilize recruiting best practices to reduce plant turnover.
  • Build and maintain all hourly and non-exempt salaried employee files. Communicate with payroll, training and divisional headquarters as required.
  • Keep HR payroll system up to date and accurate as well as maintaining employee timecard and badge systems.
  • Assist with administering hourly and salary benefit programs including orientation, registration, records keeping, communication and troubleshooting issues.
  • Prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of tasks and activities of the Human Resource department which may include processing terminations, personnel/medical records, disciplinary action tracking, job evaluations and benefits administration.
  • Assist with planning and executing employee engagement activities including events and giveaways.
  • Maintain positive employee relations by cooperating with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.
  • Additional responsibilities as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the human resources discipline
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong sense of urgency

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree or MBA in Human Resources/ Business

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee will spend majority of time in the office but will have some plant floor presence. Minimal travel may be required.
