Join Jefferson Health New Jersey's nocturnist team, providing dedicated overnight inpatient care in our South Jersey acute care hospitals. This full-time role involves 11-12 twelve-hour shifts per month (7pm-7am), offering a supportive and sustainable work schedule.

Job Description

  • Overnight Admissions & Inpatient Care: Evaluate and admit patients from the ED, conduct night rounds, and manage care for previously admitted patients.
  • Cross-Coverage Support: Provide backup to APCs, assist with ICU needs including rapid responses and Code Blue events.
  • Clinical Supervision (Optional Academic Track): Supervise residents and support triage and admissions for teaching teams-three nocturnists typically cover each night.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, specialists, social work) and ensure comprehensive transitions at shift change.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain thorough charting of histories, physicals, daily notes, and plans of care, ensuring compliance and accurate comorbidity coding.

Salary Range

$241,062.00 to $343,513.35

The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
