Position Summary:

The Production Planner Level 3 is responsible for working in a safe manner, being a champion for safety, participating in safety events, developing and managing production schedules to meet customer demand, optimizing resource utilization, drive down delinquencies, and ensure timely delivery of products. This role involves close coordination with Planning, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams. This role will have responsibility over a specific product line within the organization and may support additional product lines as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works in a safe manner, championing safety, participating in safety events, identifying safety risks, submits safety concerns monthly to support organizations safety practices and goals
  • Compiles and records production data from such documents as customer orders, work orders, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets
  • Calculates factors such as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, and frequency of defects. Checks and verifies results against standard production rates
  • Writes production reports based on data compiled, tabulated, and computed
  • Plans and follows schedules of workflow and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Clearing difficulties that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Initiates component and assembly orders
  • Creates re-work orders as needed
  • Reviews material inventory records and prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies based upon production schedules established by others
  • Charts production, based on statistics compiled, for reference by production and management personnel
  • Sorts and distributes work orders or material to workers and/or production supervisors
  • Provides current status and projected completion dates to interested parties
  • Directly handles and responds MRP/ERP system production control messages
  • Manages inventory levels for critical production operations
  • Validates internal and external operation lead times against current standards
  • Problem solves and coordinates planning prioritization and issues with Operations Leadership and Sales Department
  • Responsible for capacity planning for assigned product line to include troubleshooting parameter challenges (lead times/lot sizes)
  • Part of SIOP process for designated product line
  • Mentor entry level Planners
  • Works with Master Schedulers to prioritize weekly machine schedules

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP Systems
  • Experience with SyteLine is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills or experience with data analysis tools
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong influencing skills within a matrix organization
  • Knowledge of production and inventory management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Required Experience:

  • MS Suite Experience
  • Typically, 6-9 years of experience as a Planner in Manufacturing for Aerospace or Automotive industries preferred
  • Six Sigma Training Preferred

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Industrial engineering, or related field highly desired
  • Two-year degree from college or technical school, 5+ years of experience in production planning or manufacturing operations, 2-4 years of related experience in manufacturing

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $93,900 to $140,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.25X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
