**OPEN RECRUITMENT**


This is a position-specific recruitment. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) position/function only. All interested persons will need to reapply for any future recruitment conducted for this classification.

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: This is a supervisory position in a warehouse environment, supervising the daily activities of the MDTA Police (MDTAP) Quartermaster warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of material handling, to include issuing, receiving, storing, and delivering of supplies. The employee will plan and schedule the receipt and distribution of supplies while ensuring safe and efficient storage methods. Work effectiveness is determined by observation of appearances and condition of the warehouse area and by the effective flow of supplies and materials to and from the warehouse. The employee operates independently or within a team in determining work methods, schedules, and procedures. Supervision is exercised over the MDTA Shop Clerk. Additional duties include but are not limited the following:

  • Conducting random inspections of inventory items to verify accuracy and maintaining inventory supply;
  • Working with inventory software and systems;
  • Making contract and non-contract purchases utilizing a state purchasing credit card;
  • Monthly and annual cycle counts;
  • Communicating with vendors to correct incorrect or incomplete orders; and
  • Operating hand truck and pallet jack.

This incumbent will report directly to the First Sergeant of the Quartermaster Unit for the MDTAP. The vacancy is located at the Francis Scott Key Bridge facility in Baltimore, MD.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five years of supervisory experience in a warehouse involving the receipt and issue of a large volume of supplies, material and equipment, two years of which must have been at the Assistant Supervisor level or equivalent. ** One (1) year of this experience must have included using a computer based inventory system to track materials, supplies, and/or equipment.
