Warehouse Specialist - Fort Stewart - Hinesville, Georgia

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for verifying and maintaining merchandise and materials in appropriate storage location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies materials and/or merchandise against receiving documents, noting, and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Safely and correctly receives materials from various vendors and delivery methods.
  • Routes materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials.
  • Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
  • Removes material from storage and prepares for shipment.
  • May operate hand or powered trucks along with forklifts.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or equivalent GED with two (2) years of warehousing experience including forklift operation. Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, ability to obtain DOT physical card and certified forklift operator required. Must be able to obtain security clearance for use of government computer. A valid Georgia Driver's License and ability to maintain military gate pass access are required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers, and staff members. Ability to write reports. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, fellow employees, and customers.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to read and interpret various information to ensure procedures are followed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold, heat, and inclement weather. The work may require the use of protective devices, such as masks, goggles, and/or gloves.

A Background Check and Drug Screen will be performed for this position.
