Job Description

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Process Engineer is primarily responsible for leading process engineering activities at the Monofilament Plant by analyzing processes, identifying and characterizing problem areas, and recommending and implementing optimal changes and improvements.



  1. Modify products & processes as assigned to fit customers' specific applications.
  2. Specify Operating Instructions &, as needed, Special Instructions.
  3. Upgrade and improve processes in order to:

    • reduce variation,
    • increase efficiency, and
    • increase profitability.


  4. Coordinate with Development Engineer to scale-up new products.
  5. Assist in the development of Production Procedures.
  6. Provide Technical Service to customers by communicating information regarding our products and processes as needed.
  7. Communicate technical information to the IPT group and plant staff as needed.
  8. Specify resin grade and qualify suppliers. Coordinate continuous improvement of raw materials with resin suppliers. Define resin characteristics in conjunction with raw material suppliers.
  9. Explore, develop and ultimately specify new process technology.
  10. Lead continuous improvement of existing process technology.
  11. Participate in the educational process (i.e. assist in training of other employees) as needed.
  12. Review process equipment capability and address deficiencies as necessary.
  13. Manage the core members of the Quality group.
  14. Be on call for technical questions and issues during non-business hours.
  15. Periodically travel to customers and suppliers.
  16. Investigate customer complaints and follow up as needed.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Polymer/ Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 2-5 years of process engineering experience, preferably in a plastic processing environment

  • You're insatiably curious, eager to explore fields like polymer science, automation, papermaking, and controls engineering and apply your insights to pushing process improvements forward.
  • You approach problems methodically but creatively, blending precision with innovative thinking across disciplines.
  • You're proficient with extrusion equipment, materials testing, statistical analysis and excited to learn new tools.
  • You apply a collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills to lead process improvements.
  • You're knowledgeable in Lean Principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
