Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will work independently and alongside other plant personnel to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems within production and facilities equipment. You'll assist in performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.

Essential Functions:



  • Work safely and maintain a safe work environment, follow all plant and department specific safety rules, procedures and policies.
  • Problem-solve equipment breakdowns and perform necessary electrical repairs to maintain quality and productivity, reporting any irregularities to department manager.
  • Instruct operators in proper care and maintenance of machines.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment, working with outside contractors as necessary.
  • Do assigned electrical preventative maintenance.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork.
  • Maintain all electrical systems as assigned, working with department manager to ensure all needed parts are obtained.
  • Perform other assigned duties.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Strong understanding of wiring, circuits, and other electrical components, including DC and AC principles.
  • Hands on experience with lathes, milling, presses, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to remain organized and self-directed in a fast-paced environment, working with limited direction and supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow work related materials and instructions, including blueprints and technical documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, communicating appropriate information accurately and clearly to applicable individuals.



Working Conditions/Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to stand, squat, climb, and kneel constantly for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift and transfer material up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to manipulate hand and power tool while lying on your side or back occasionally for 5-15 minutes.
  • Required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or use controls, tools or equipment.
  • May require the ability to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • May require specific vision abilities that include close vision.
  • May be required to perform concentrated work for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to perform duties beyond standard business hours.



Minimum Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Five years experience in maintenance as an Electrical Technician or Maintenance Electrician.
  • Journeyman certification or master electrician certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
