Job Summary

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Serve as the official registered lobbyist for organization at state level.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and state agency actions relevant to the organization.
  • Manage and direct external lobbyist.
  • Represent the organization with industry coalitions.
  • Education & mobilize internal stakeholders and assist with those stakeholders' engagement.
  • Implement comprehensive government affairs strategy as developed by the ELT.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key public officials.
  • Testify before state House & Senate committees as needed.
  • Collaborate among all internal teams to ensure consistent messaging from the organization.
  • Draft written communication to public officials on organization positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have two or more direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - 4 year college degree
  • Experience - 7 years governmental experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
  • Data entry skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in government or governmental affairs
  • Juris Doctor degree preferred
  • Experience managing employees preferred
