Job Description:

Saab Inc., Land Systems division is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Staff Integration and Test (I&T) Engineer with experience in weapons and other Department of Defense (DoD) systems engineering test, production support testing, and I&T leadership. The results-oriented candidate should be capable of taking initiative, exhibiting technical knowledge and leadership, demonstrating hands-on complex "system of systems" problem solving, multi-tasking, and providing next generation, innovative solutions, as applicable to the I&T discipline. The candidate will work closely with the project and program leadership, other engineering disciplines, engineering leadership and other functional teams across businesses and locations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble, integrate, and test complex systems.

  • Analyze subsystem and system requirements; developing integration and verification strategies for those subsystems and systems

  • Identify, procure and validate test environments & tools as necessary

  • Develop integration & verification plans and procedures and conduct verification activities in accordance with these procedures

  • Utilize automated test methodologies to design and implement test automation framework and automated tests, working with software engineers during process.

  • Write verification analysis reports documenting the results of verification activities

  • Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting, problem decomposition, root cause analysis and risk analysis

  • Actively coach and mentor less experienced I&T engineers in an effort to grow the engineering capabilities of the team

  • Contribute to project planning by providing cost estimates, schedule estimates and task assignments

  • Actively participate in proposal efforts (including whitepaper and RFI responses), technical volume generation, estimates, basis of estimates, and reviews.

  • Work closely with existing products' design authorities and jointly generate the best solution for given problems, as well as communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and teammates.

This position is based out of our Syracuse, NY office. Relocation will be provided.

Compensation Range: $112,900-$146,800

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline is required

  • 10+ years of related test experience in a technical/engineering environment

  • Test leadership; including test execution, management of cost, schedule and personnel

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships in team environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Understanding of Cost Accounting and Earned Value

  • Hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance

  • Domestic travel up to 15%
