OverviewWith Azure and Microsoft's ever growing server capacity needs, the Microsoft Capacity Infrastructure Service (CIS) Platform Team aims to provide a worldclass platform and service to provide automation, orchestration, and in-depth metrics to facilitate Microsoft's server capacity needs. The Runtime and Packaging team under the Microsoft CIS Platform Team is hiring experienced engineers to join a diverse engineering team that interfaces with 100s of service teams and partners across Microsoft.As a Senior Software Engineer in the Microsoft CIS Platform Team you will help develop a platform to automate hardware and devices provisioning/de-provisioning functions, datacenter operations, business processes, all through microservices, and deliver data analytics end to end. This will enable Microsoft services to manage capacity in a consistent, efficient, and secure way. This opportunity will allow you to work with teams across Azure and Microsoft, hone your engineering skills working on large-scale distributed systems, and contribute to the fastest growing cloud platform on the market. The Runtime team is responsible for providing a highly scalable workflow execution engine, robust workflow authoring and software development kit (SDK) experience, and tools and automation to facilitate testing and rollout of workflows across the Platform. ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario, often working cross team and cross organazations with our partners.Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents to solve complex problems or provide robust features for the Platform.Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor our service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore our service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. |
