Job Summary:

The CU Medicine Weight Management and Wellness Clinic resides within the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus and is a multispecialty clinic specializing in non-surgical physician-directed weight loss. Our Medical Providers and Advanced Practice Providers utilize lifestyle and/or pharmacological treatment options for overweight or obesity. Our clinical team also includes registered dietitians and clinical psychologists who support patients during their weight loss journeys. Our clinical services also include body composition and metabolism testing. Our clinic is a hub for obesity clinical research. Our providers aim to support patients through their weight loss and wellness journeys using a patient-centric approach. This position is up to a .49 FTE and will primarily work in the clinic setting providing medical nutrition therapy for our CU Medicine Weight Management and Wellness Clinic patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient-centered medical nutrition therapy counseling and education to our clinic patients receiving provider-directed weight management care.
- Reviewing provider notes and documentation in Epic.
- Timely completion of patient documentation in Epic and filing charges.
- Ensuring accurate charge capture and CPT coding.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Master's degree in nutrition or health related field
- Current RDN certification
- Successful completion of a Dietetic internship
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant Advanced Certifications with CDR
- Experience working with EPIC or other electronic health record system.
- Two years of professional-level experience in nutrition and dietetics
- One year of experience delivering medical nutrition therapy focused on weight management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Face-to-face nutritional counseling and assessment with nationally accepted dietary or nutritional protocols focused on the management of diseases in clinic settings.
- Knowledge of how to improve chronic illness outcomes (including obesity) integrating nutrition, activity and mindset strategies.
- Strong patient counseling and behavior change strategies.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution and community.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Promote and advance diversity and inclusion at all levels, including awareness of weight bias and weight stigma and provision of compassionate and patient-centered care for individuals with overweight or obesity.
- Exceptional educational skills at multiple learning levels and audiences. Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in the use of computers for: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and E-mail
- Proficiency in use of EPIC or other EHR for documentation of services provided and billing/coding for MNT visits.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $92,000 to $106,000 (for a1.0 FTE) The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
