As aLead Mechanical EQ Engineer, you will collaborate with customer and partners to support implementation of Alternate Treatments associated with 10 CFR 50.69. You will review engineering deliverables to ensure they meet quality and technical standards using analytical methodologies to address equipment aging for components under the nuclear industry Environmental Qualification (EQ) Program and the requirements in 10 CFR 50, Appendix A and provide insights into the technical basis for quantifying aging effects, including Arrhenius methodologies for thermal effects, along with radiation, mechanical cycling, and synergistic effects. You will be an SME mentoring less experience engineers assisting w/ their development and the Digital Optimization Solutions (DOS) team will rely on you to work with site technical and project resources during project meetings and deliverable reviews. Finally, DOS will rely on you to develop Accident Function Assessments (AFA) and Alternative Treatments according to 10 CFR 50.69.

You will report to the Manager of Procurement EngineeringEngineering & Maintenance Optimizationfor BOP Mechanical & Chemical Process Engineering in a hybrid position at the manager's discretion based at the Rock Hill, SC facility. No relocation will be provided.


Day to Day:


  • Apply Risk-Informed Safety Classifications per 10CFR50.69



  • Apply industry-approved methodologies to identify qualified life for plant equipment



  • Apply risk-informed methodologies to target equipment from an equipment reliability program perspective



  • Develop and review deliverables to ensure reasonable confidence that program requirements are met



  • Facilitate successful projects with customers by establishing and promoting technical positions

    Lead and support customer meetings with customer partners




Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:




  • 10+ years of experience



  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent field from an Accredited ABET School



  • Site programs and operational requirements



  • Arrhenius methodologies



  • INPO AP-913 Equipment Reliability Process



  • 10 CFR 50.65 & Maintenance Rule



  • 10 CFR Appendix B



  • Work w/ maintenance and work management



  • Qualified for nuclear station badging or obtain remote access (10 CFR Part 810)R
