Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse

FlexStaff is seeking a dedicated OR Nurse for our client at an Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center. This is a leading healthcare facility committed to providing exceptional patient care. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a compassionate and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join their perioperative team.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide nursing care to patients in compliance with standards of practice defined by ANA, AORN, ASPAN, and state practice act standards, as well as organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise plans of care based on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/caregiver.
  • Maintain clinical knowledge and skills competencies to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice and monitor the environment to provide safe patient care.
  • Supervise and direct patient care in a single operating room.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Support the facility's ideology, mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Use facility resources appropriately and avoid wasteful practices.
  • Contribute to the progress and development of the organization's compliance program and Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties.
  • Participate in continuing education and other learning experiences.
  • Participate as a team member in support of the total perioperative process.
  • Organize nursing activities efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure patient readiness for surgery and provide comfort and reassurance to patients.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' clinical condition and psychosocial needs during the perioperative period.
  • Monitor compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards.
  • Accurately record patient care records and other forms following policies and procedures in a timely manner.


Qualifications Required:



  • High school graduate or GED certificate recipient.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN with active license in appropriate state.
  • BLS certified.
  • ACLS and PALS (if applicable for patient population) within 6 months of hire.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Strong ethical and moral character references.
  • Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English.
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and their right to work in the United States.


Preferred:



  • Perioperative outpatient experience.
  • ASC experience.
  • Computer literacy.
