Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse FlexStaff is seeking a dedicated OR Nurse for our client at an Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a compassionate and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join their perioperative team. Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients in compliance with standards of practice defined by ANA, AORN, ASPAN, and state practice act standards, as well as organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise plans of care based on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/caregiver.
- Maintain clinical knowledge and skills competencies to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice and monitor the environment to provide safe patient care.
- Supervise and direct patient care in a single operating room.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the facility's ideology, mission, goals, and objectives.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
- Use facility resources appropriately and avoid wasteful practices.
- Contribute to the progress and development of the organization's compliance program and Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties.
- Participate in continuing education and other learning experiences.
- Participate as a team member in support of the total perioperative process.
- Organize nursing activities efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure patient readiness for surgery and provide comfort and reassurance to patients.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' clinical condition and psychosocial needs during the perioperative period.
- Monitor compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards.
- Accurately record patient care records and other forms following policies and procedures in a timely manner.
Qualifications Required:
- High school graduate or GED certificate recipient.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- RN with active license in appropriate state.
- BLS certified.
- ACLS and PALS (if applicable for patient population) within 6 months of hire.
- Leadership qualities.
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English.
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and their right to work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Perioperative outpatient experience.
- ASC experience.
- Computer literacy.
