GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides support to students to promote personal and professional success, increases student involvement in the College experience, acts as a liaison for student referrals and information to internal and external resources, collects data and analyses related to student retention and collaborates with faculty on student issues. Provides brief solution therapy therapeutic services with individual students. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Provides treatment and therapeutic services to Bryan College of Health Sciences students. 3. *Provides individual and group therapy to Bryan College of Health Sciences students. 4. *Discusses with individual patients their responses to events and interactions between individual appointments/ groups. 5. *Completes psychosocial assessments. 6. Participates in brief solution-focused therapy planning for Bryan College of Health Sciences students on all campus locations (Bryan East, Bryan West, and Hastings). 7. Develops Brief solution focused therapy plans independently and in coordination as needed with Bryan Psychiatry or other community agencies. 8. Implements and reviews Brief solution plans with Bryan College of Health Sciences students. 9. *Assists Bryan College of Health Sciences Students in setting up referrals, including but not limited to Bryan Psychiatry, Continuum EAP, Voices of Hope, etc. 10. *Develops and maintains working relationships between Bryan Psychiatry, The Student Care Program staff and providers, and other hospital departments and outside community agencies. 11. Documents Bryan College of Health Sciences students in individual and or group participation on a timely basis in student record. 12. *Keeps Dean of Students informed of student needs and community issues. 13. *Vigilant to the day-to-day fluctuations and responds promptly to re-prioritize assignments to fit the need. 14. Maintains confidentially of records related to protected health information. 15. Conducts workshops and outreach services designed to provide mental health education to students, staff, faculty administrators and parents/families. 16. Develops lectures and special focus topics for program enhancement as requested. 17. *Manages the peer mentor program. 18. *Facilitates college wide development to promote student success. 19. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise, including CEU's. 20. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 21. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. (Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk "*". EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in either Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-Accredited Program OR Masters in Social Work with clinical focus from CSWE-Accredited program OR MA/MS in Counseling from a CACREP-Accredited Program required. Licensed Mental Health Practitioner license with the State of Nebraska required. Experience working within Higher Education and Undergraduate/Graduate students preferred. Experience working with Drug and Alcohol clients preferred. |
