The Department of Neurological Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified neurosurgeon to join our Farber Hospitalist Division as a Nocturnist Neurosurgeon providing overnight coverage for the inpatient neurosurgical service.

This is a key role for maintaining 24/7 neurosurgical care across our busy academic hospital, home to a nationally ranked neurosurgery program. You will manage acute neurosurgical consults, emergency procedures, and inpatient care in collaboration with our daytime attending, APP, and resident teams.

Job Description

  • Provide overnight coverage for neurosurgical inpatients, including ICU-level care and emergency consultations.
  • Perform urgent/emergent neurosurgical procedures when needed (e.g., EVD placement, craniotomy for trauma).
  • Collaborate with residents, APPs, and other specialties to ensure timely, safe, and effective care.
  • Support seamless handoffs with the day team.
  • Participate in clinical documentation and quality initiatives.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.
  • Eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience or training in trauma/emergent neurosurgery preferred.
