Overview
Follow your passion all the way to paradise at TradeWinds Resort, a Tampa Bay Times Top Workplace for seven years in a row! TradeWinds features two destination resorts just 200 flip flops from one another along the gorgeous Gulf Coast on St. Pete Beach. Sorts, segregates, washes, extracts, dries, and moves clean linen using industrial washers and driers to meet laundry production standards for quality and performance.
Responsibilities
Manually removes dirty linen from linen carts, lifts, and loads dirty linen into industrial washers to achieve correct weight distribution as assigned by the senior machine operator. Washes linen using correct wash formulas without error. Completes all work within established department time criteria and ensures maximim utilization of available equipment. Logs all work.
- Manually removes, lifts, and loads clean linen from washers & places it into industrial size driers as assigned by the senior machine operator. Monitors drying levels to ensure completion of drying cycle. Distributes clean linen for processing without error using established policies, procedures, and processes. Completes all work within established department time criteria and ensures maximim utilization of available equipment.
- Monitors wash chemical injection units and chemical drums to ensure wash quality meets established quality standards. Exchanges 50 lb drums as required and alerts supervisor of chemical requirements before chemicals are exhausted as assigned by the senior machine operator. Cleans and prepares empty drums for return to the vendor .
- Coordinates with the senior machine operator to determine daily washfloor requirements, and demonstrates initiative to select linen carts for processing which meet these goals and objectives with minimum supervison. Stages carts and linen to facilitate processing as assigned by the senior machine operator.
- Operates all equipment as recommended by the manufacturer. Proactively avoids equipment downtime by maintaining a general awareness of equipment capability, performance, and function. Exercises initiative to identify and correct deficiencies which would degrade washroom production. Reports malfunctions promptly, completes minor adjustments or repairs of equipment as required, and assists repairmen to complete other repairs as assigned by the senior machine operator.
- Identifies linen by functional use and correctly sorts and segrates linen by washload requirement within established time standards. Assists in the collection of dirty linen on-site as assigned by the senior machine operator. Operates a golf cart to return linen to the washroom for processing.
- Initiates shift start-up/shut-down procedures, and maintains a familiarity with plant equipment necessary to the performance of daily duties to include but not limited by: boiler operation, compressed air systems, water feed and drainage systems, and basic troubleshooting skills to maintain operation of those items. Demonstrates an ability to identify equipment failures, and to report same for repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned, like: loading and unloading of trucks and general cleaning duties; providing for the security and protection of equipment and resources; general linen sorting and/or operating other equipment as contingencies require.
Qualifications

Flexible and long hours sometimes required. -
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. -
Ability to stand during entire shift. -
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. -
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. -
Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. - Must have open availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as they are our busiest times.
