Description

You will be responsible for cashier duties at the Santa Monica Hospital cafeteria. Must be able to process customer transactions on a computerized cash register station.

Responsibilities include:



  • Reconciliation of daily cash reports and securing deposits in a proper manner.
  • Assist assigned areas including food service stations as required by operational needs including setting up service lines, meal assembly and assisting customersduring service times.
  • Maintain and organize areas for cleanliness and orderliness, making sure that stations are appropriately stocked.
  • Assure that register is in correct working order and transactions are recorded consistently.
  • Handle problems with customers in a diplomatic manner.
  • Follow safety and sanitation procedures.



Salary Range: $21.24-27.01/hour
Qualifications

Required:



  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Skill in handling a computerized cash register.
  • Skill in making change, handling currency, and being able to recognize counterfeit bills easily.
  • Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions, as well as basic math in order to maintain accurate and legible cash logs.
  • Ability to interact with both internal and external customers in a high volume operation, with diplomacy, and patience.
  • Mathematical skills to insure accuracy in calculating and generating deposits and postings according to University Policy.
  • Ability to function fully as a team member, participating in on-going performance improvement projects.
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, reach, lift, push and pull for prolonged periods of time in hot or cold areas.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+lbs.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by JCAHO and HACCP standards.
