About the College COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SCIENCES The College of Health and Human Sciences is comprised of 12 programs outside of the School of Financial Planning, including Couple, Marriage and Family Therapy; Counseling and Addiction Recovery Sciences; Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management; Retail Management; Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics; Human Sciences; Apparel Design and Manufacturing; Interior Design; Human Development and Family Sciences; and Early Childhood Education.
About the Department/School/Area SCHOOL OF FINANCIAL PLANNING The School of Financial Planning offers a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning. All programs are registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Three dual degrees are offered: JD/MS in PFP, MBA/MS in PFP, and MS Tax/MS PFP and a minor in Agricultural Economics Ph.D. is also supported. Graduate certificates in Personal Financial Planning, Charitable Financial Planning, and Life-Centered Financial Planning and a hybrid delivery MS degree are provided. An online major in Applied Personal Finance and a minor in the Studies of Personal Finance and other courses meet the financial literacy needs of Texas Tech students. Enrollment of majors includes approximately 158 undergraduate students and 126 graduate students, of which 49 are doctoral. There are 43 Applied Personal Finance Majors and 137 Personal Finance minors. Faculty positions currently include 9 full-time graduate faculty, 3 part-time faculty, and 7 adjunct faculty who work as a team to accomplish their collective goals. Students take classes and study in the 4,200 square foot Charles Schwab/PFP Technology Complex. The Center for Financial Responsibility offers research and outreach opportunities for the financial planning faculty and graduate students. Knowledge Empowering You (KEY) utilizes Personal Financial Planning students to provide educational outreach and one on one financial counseling in the Lubbock community. Red to Black (through Student Services) provides peer financial counseling and education for TTU students. This provides experience for PFP majors. Financial Planning Academy, funded by Charles Schwab Foundation, is a summer camp that introduces high school students to the Registered Investment Advisory industry and provides education in the core areas of personal financial management. The new Personal Financial Planning Clinic gives our students direct client-facing experiences. The Clinic impacts numerous lives in the Lubbock community. It provides innovative experiential learning opportunities that equip our students to be the best of the next generation of financial planners.
Major/Essential Functions In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate level.

Faculty Qualifications Specific required qualifications are: 1. Candidates must have a Master's degree in personal finance or a closely related discipline (e.g., family & consumer sciences, financial planning, consumer & family economics, family resource management). 2. AFC designation required. If the applicant is obtaining the AFC designation (educational requirements satisfied and evidence of studying/taking the exam within the next 1 month on resume), please indicate within the resume and/or cover letter. A CFP designation or terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., etc.) could be a suitable substitute for the AFC designation. 3. Online college-level teaching experience or relevant industry experience in a financial service industry field. 3-year minimum as evident in application documents (cover letter, resume, curriculum vitae).
Preferred Qualifications In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: 1. Working with diverse populations in online courses or through relevant financial service industry experiences as evident in application documents (cover letter, resume, curriculum vitae). 2. A motivated and enthusiastic persona with excellent communication skills, both oral & written, as evident in application documents (cover letter, resume, curriculum vitae, and interview(s)). 3. Experience in curriculum development for online courses. 4. Active membership in relevant professional organizations is desired. 5. CFP designation or other financial industry designations.
