Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Greenskeeper III | Golf Course Maintenance for the beautiful Barton Creek Country Club!

The Greenskeeper III performs a variety of skilled tasks to maintain and enhance golf course grounds. This position serves as a lead worker, responsible for operating specialized equipment and ensuring high-quality course conditions. The role requires in-depth knowledge of turf maintenance practices, irrigation systems, and the safe operation of machinery. In addition to delivering quality service that exceeds guest and member expectations, this position is committed to creating lifelong guests by proactively embracing service standards, adhering to safety regulations, and gaining the knowledge necessary to assist guests with any and all needs.



Responsibilities

    Operates a wide variety of turf maintenance equipment, including but not limited to fairway mowers, greens mowers, top dressers, and aerifiers
  • Daily maintenance tasks such as mowing, bunker raking, sod installation, and irrigation repairs.
  • Responds to any reasonable task as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
  • Assists in other departments as needed.
  • Attends monthly departmental meetings.
  • Maintains and repairs irrigation systems, including valve replacement, pipe installation, and head adjustments.
  • Performs chemical and fertilizer applications using proper calibration techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE); maintains accurate application records.
  • Assists with golf course construction projects and landscape installations.
  • Identifies turfgrass diseases, pest problems, and irrigation issues; reports findings to supervisors.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced greenskeeping staff on equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Ensures assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards with minimal supervision.
  • Follows all safety procedures and promptly reports unsafe conditions or incidents.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience operating and maintaining turf care equipment.
  • Prior experience in irrigation system repair and turf chemical application preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Solid understanding of turf management practices, including mowing heights, aerification, and fertilization.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining complex equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance schedules and safety instructions.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and heavy machinery.
  • Requires physical strength and stamina; ability to lift 50 pounds or more and perform manual labor.
