Department Summary The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban design. Position Overview The Internship Coordinator will provide coaching and advising to students across the department of Rehabilitation and Health Services (RHS) regarding career exploration and development of professional skills in preparation for internship experiences. In support of the academic programs within RHS, the Internship Coordinator will also advise students on the requirements and process pertaining to registering for academic internships. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years' of related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health or a closely related professional field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one to two years of experience developing, promoting, and managing internship/experiential learning opportunities for students in a higher education environment. The position requires a dynamic individual with strong verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to inclusive excellence, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, alumni, employers, supervisors, faculty, and staff.
