This role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your deep understanding of legal processes and product management skills to ensure the quality and reliability of AI-generated content used by legal professionals. You will work closely with product managers, research scientists, and engineers, playing a key role in bringing innovative legal technology solutions to life.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation Framework Execution:Contribute to the design and manage the implementation of automated evaluation frameworks and metrics for generative AI in the legal domain, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps. Focus on assessing factors like factual accuracy, legal soundness, citation validity, hallucination detection, bias, and relevance for specific features.

  • Data Management and Testing Coordination:Manage the creation and curation of high-quality datasets needed for auto-evaluation (ground truth, adversarial examples). Coordinate the execution of automated testing and validation pipelines, track results, and help identify areas for improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate closely with research scientists, engineers, attorney editors, and other product managers to translate requirements into clear user stories and specifications, facilitate development, and ensure smooth execution of generative AI evaluation features.

  • Technical Insight & Application:Stay current with advancements in LLMs, generative AI evaluation techniques, and prompt engineering. Apply this knowledge to support the continuous improvement of evaluation methods and tools for assigned features.

  • Stakeholder Communication:Clearly communicate feature status, requirements, evaluation results, and potential risks to relevant team members and stakeholders.

  • User & Market Understanding:Participate in and support market research, competitive analysis, and user research activities to gather insights into the needs and expectations of legal professionals regarding AI-generated content evaluation.

About You:

You are a fit for the role of Product Manager if your background includes:

  • Legal Expertise (Required): J.D. from an accredited law school and a deep understanding of legal research methods, concepts, and their application within litigation workflows. Ability to dissect complex legal issues.

  • Product Management Fundamentals (Required): 3-5+ years of product management experience with a track record of contributing to the end-to-end lifecycle (concept to launch) of complex technical products/features. Experience translating user needs into product requirements, especially for evaluation.

  • AI & Technical Proficiency (Required):Minimum 6 months working with generative AI; familiarity with and strong interest in learning about current AI tools and techniques (Legal AI focus highly preferred). Understanding of the importance of evaluation metrics and data quality for AI. Direct experience contributing to the development or implementation of evaluation processes for AI/ML models, experience working directly with data science teams on model processes (training, tuning, evaluation), and comfort with intermediate programming, specifically Python a plus.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to break down complex problems, identify core issues, and contribute to effective solutions. Comfortable working through ambiguity.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and articulate requirements.
