Covia is looking for a dynamic Land Coordinator who will have a positive impact on our Environmental and Land team. The Land Coordinator is accountable for the strategic management of land assets through oversight of agreements, transactions, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration to support operational and growth objectives.

The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Manage Land Agreements: Actively oversee all existing land-related agreements. Track expiration dates and coordinate with Plant Managers and Legal to renew, amend, or terminate agreements as needed.
  • Coordinate Land Transactions: Work closely with external partners and local government departments to ensure land transactions (e.g. Lot splits, zoning changes, easements, right-of-way adjustments) are accurately identified and executed.
  • Due Diligence & Acquisition Support: Manage due diligence efforts for all land acquisitions, including title and permitting checks. Coordinate with title companies and other third parties to ensure all legal and regulatory steps are completed thoroughly.
  • Land Records Management: Maintain and continually update the land document management system. Ensure a single, accurate source of truth that is easily accessible across relevant departments.
  • Support Plant Operations: Collaborate proactively with Plant Managers on any land-related projects or initiatives. Ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned before work commences.
  • Identify & Execute Land Opportunities: Work with internal stakeholders to identify and access potential land acquisitions. Develop and implement action plans to address legal, zoning, and regulatory requirements early in the process to prevent delays.
  • Divestment Planning: Develop and implement strategies for divesting or managing idled sites and unused land parcels, ensuring compliance with corporate objectives and local regulations.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Maintain productive relationships with landowners, neighbors, local officials, and other external stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact where appropriate.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with departments including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax to ensure they have accurate and timely land-related information.
  • Land Committee Support: Assist in organizing and facilitating land committee meetings, ensuring appropriate frequency, agenda setting, documentation, and follow-ups.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all land use complies with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare reports and dashboards on landholdings, transactions, and key performance indicators. Provide insights to support strategic land use and portfolio management decisions.



The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in land management, real estate transactions, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of land use, zoning regulations, property transactions, and title research
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail


The successful candidate may have the additional qualifications:



  • Experience working with GIS mapping systems
  • Familiarity with environmental assessments, easements, and permitting processes
  • Knowledge of land acquisition and divestment strategy in an industrial setting
  • Experience coordinating with legal teams and title companies on property-related matters
