HonorHealth is looking for a Credentialing Supervisor to ensure the integrity of the program's process and guidelines and Medical Staff Services. The ideal candidate must meet the minimum requirements of a HSD/GED along with 3 years supervisory experience, 3 years secretarial experience along with 3 years experience in Medical Staff Services with an emphasis in credentialing/re-credentialing. To ensure success in the role, the additional soft skills include being detailed oriented, strong customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and Physician Providers and provide a white glove service as a Credentialing supervisor.

Responsibilities

Job Summary
Supervises the Credentials Program to assure the program's integrity according to expectations defined in the Medical Staff Bylaws, and other regulatory agencies. Oversees the daily operations of the Credentials Verification Office maintaining effective and efficient systems to support the credentialing functions of the medical staff organization. Maintains an effective working relationship with the Director, Medical Staff Services and Medical Staff leaders, providing consultative expertise, administrative and other delegated support as necessary. Performs administrative functions as required in the absence of the Manager, Medical Staff Services.
  • Supervises the Credentials Program. Assures the integrity of the credentials verification program and maintains a state of readiness at all times for licensing and accrediting agencies. Coordinates and provides administrative and supervisory support for the initial appointment and reappointment activities of the Medical Staff and the Allied Health Professional Staff in accordance with Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and department rules and regulations.
  • Oversees the Pre-Application and Application processes to include research and analysis of all credentials documentation per the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations. Evaluates all preapplication questionnaires for initial credentialing/privileging to verify eligibility for medical staff application per established policies and procedures and authorizes application packets sent to physicians and other practitioners who meet eligibility criteria.
  • Appraises initial and reappointment application files to determine accuracy and completeness, and need for further investigation. Initiates and monitors appropriate investigations as determined by appraisal and assists any further investigations as deemed necessary during the approval process.
  • Supervises the Reappointment Process to assure that the process is conducted in a comprehensive, accurate, well-organized manner to include research, verification and analysis of all reappointment documentation.
  • Oversees the Credentials Verification Office including planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating staff and resources necessary to achieve the goals of the department. Nurtures an atmosphere of collaboration and team oriented interpersonal relationships, communication flow and information sharing between the CVO and the Medical Staff Services Department. Evaluates work performance on a regular basis by reviewing productivity and efficiency; prepares annual performance evaluations of CVO personnel. Revises job descriptions as needed. Reviews and updates the Credentials Policy and Procedure Manual on an annual basis.
  • Prepares and controls the department's annual operating and capital equipment budgets. Assures collection of medical staff application processing fees for new medical staff members and allied health initial and renewal fees. Reviews billings from outside agencies for accuracy and authorizes payment.
  • Supervises data entry of information into the Cactus credentialing program that includes all new physicians, allied health staff and ancillary/technical staff. Provides education to CVO staff and Medical Staff Services Department regarding the Cactus credentialing program. Generates reports on a monthly and ad hoc basis as requested from other hospital departments.
  • Manages and inputs the data as required for the CVO and MSSD balanced scorecard tactics and measures on the I-drive. Monitors success and participates in quality improvement activities of both departments.
  • Coordinates the activities of the Credentials Committee and the Combine Allied Health Committee, including agenda preparation and meeting materials. Prepares accurate, concise minutes that reflect meeting actions. Researches and prepares information for the chairmen and follows through on medical staff issues and actions.
  • Represents the Director, Medical Staff Services, in his/her absence and performs administrative functions as required, i.e., approval of time cards, arbitrator for employee/staff/physician issues, attends meetings on behalf of the Director Consistently ensures a 'customer service' orientation with regard to physician requests, complaints, suggestions, etc.; follows through with and/or resolves issues while presenting an image of professionalism.
