The salary range for this role is:

$64,718.69 - $106,763.83

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Planner oversees the planning and scheduling of work for the maintenance team, including contractors and vendors within the team's scope. This role ensures all maintenance activities align with food safety and regulatory guidelines and covers all areas of the Rochelle site.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and updating the maintenance plan, enhancing the CMMS by creating general maintenance task lists, entering new assets, updating work centers, and ensuring accurate equipment BOMs. Additionally, the Maintenance Planner handles non-MRO parts purchasing, manages assigned contract service purchase orders, and leads special projects in collaboration with engineering and operations.

The Maintenance Planner also provides guidance and mentorship to maintenance leads, supporting their development and ensuring operational excellence.

  • Manage parts spend to budget and accurately forecast maintenance spending.
  • Assign and schedule preventative maintenance work orders, and work requests, through the CMMS. Responsible for tracking and updating emergency corrective work orders in a timely manner.
  • Must have the technical aptitude to continually evaluate and enhance the maintenance program to identify equipment changes, upgrades, and migration from obsolescence.
  • Evaluate the preventative maintenance program for accuracy and validity by partnering with department leads, OEM manufacturers, consulting equipment manuals, and communicating with operations partners to ensure the equipment is being maintained at a satisfactory level and all aspects of equipment are being serviced at the appropriate intervals.
  • Keep records of repeat failures and use trend analysis for the purpose of enhancing and optimizing the preventative maintenance program.
  • Create and update preventative maintenance plans and strategies when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with production schedulers, department leads, outside contractors, and the maintenance teams to accommodate and arrange work performed by the department; this includes preventative maintenance, repairs, and projects ranging from the smallest to largest scales.
  • Maintain records and present reports regarding work backlog, manpower usage, schedule variances as per the direction of management and in accordance with the maintenance team's Key Performance Indicators.
  • Track equipment asset numbers and locations to assure all assets are accounted for, and update asset tracking when new assets are introduced to the site. Create preventative maintenance plans and general maintenance task lists for new equipment introduced to the site.
  • Participate in and create any follow up work requests from site audits, quality walks, etc.
  • Quality and Food Safety - Overall responsible for finished product quality, food safety and legality, within functional area. Maintain standards and adjust processes to meet Del Monte standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable or related area (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience within a food manufacturing setting or comparable industry.
  • Must understand and abide by HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs), and industrial safety practices.
  • Prior experience with a CMMS or PM tracking system preferred.
  • Experience leading maintenance departments.
  • Knowledge of SAP Inventory systems required.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks on a daily basis when required.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and coordinate will with others.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization. Strong partnership with production planners, maintenance teams, and outside contractors will be required.
  • Professionalism and strong communication skills required for day to day work, as well as for frequent interaction, coordination, scheduling and planning with outside contractors and partners.
