VP, Marketing Transformation and Personalization - UHC Government Programs

The VP of Marketing Transformation and Personalization will lead, oversee and manage the coordination, strategic decision making, prioritization and general oversight between Government Programs (GP) businesses and functional teams, ensuring decommissions, connected offers, technology requirements, vendor management and capabilities align with company investments and the enterprise evolution schedule. The VP is accountable for effective and efficient outreach that support GP personalization efforts through a digital transformation roadmap, thought leadership, organic growth, member retention, clinical outcomes, digital adoption and positive member experience. This role will lead digital transformation and agile orchestration of GP's marketing capabilities through the Marketing Data Platform leveraging the Adobe tech stack and tools. This leader will demonstrate a solid understanding of the trends and capabilities in alignment with Adobe tools and modern marketing capabilities driving to define and implement the businesses mid-term marketing roadmap with the relentless focus on placing the customer at the heart of the experience. The role requires a leader who can guide and influence the team to deliver quality performance through day-to-day accountabilities while accelerating the pace of new marketing innovations, setting the stage for transformation.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Lead the technology and transformation agenda for government programs marketing to deliver impactful personalization for millions of members across multiple products and business lines, setting the stage for UHC adoption and use
  • Anchor to end-to-end consumer experience management, supporting the team to develop orchestrated campaign journeys leveraging and optimizing customer data and its platforms
  • Lead the marketing staff through training evolutions inclusive of new technology (Adobe), AI capabilities (Writer.com, Co-Pilot) and platforms (MDP, Workfront) through coaching, developing and training strategies and practices
  • Model and ensure use of marketing best practices across the team
  • Serve as an Enterprise sponsor and leader of Marketing Evolution work across UHC, reinforcing the team's transition to the Adobe suite, the decommission of tech and the fulfillment of commitments via the CBA
  • Model and encourage use of proprietary 'Marketing Way' tools and capabilities
  • Implement and champion a digital-first approach
  • Establish measurement and reporting initiatives to inform future growth and execution of the evolution roadmap
  • Establish relationships with key partners across UHC, Operations, Optum and Enterprise Teams to execute business line strategies and identify opportunities for future enhancements and efficiency

Required Qualifications:



  • 15+ years of experience working in a complex matrixed environment preferably within strategic marketing, member experience, and/or growth leadership
  • 10+ years people management experience and/or matrixed influence teams
  • Proven success within Adobe technology, tools and implementation
  • Solid ability to prioritize a broad project portfolio and meet deadlines within specified time constraints and drive towards investment priorities
  • End-to-end digital experience leadership and consumer journey management and expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and create strategies cross-functionally (preferably with marketing technology campaign management and digital teams), while presenting to senior leadership stakeholders
  • Refined coaching and team development skills with the ability to eventually lead a multi-faceted team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Graduate degree, e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA/MHSA
  • Prior experience with technology teams, digital transformation, marketing to members, consumers, businesses, and/or providers via multiple channels
  • Proficient in Workfront or similar project management tool
  • Prior experience with Adobe marketing suite

The salary range for this role is $191,800 to $364,800 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
