Your Job Molex is looking for a qualified Wire and Cable Process Technician who has knowledge of extrusion lines and accessory equipment, is capable of setting up and operating an extruder. The Operator must understand and perform all tasks in conformance with the process and inspection sheets, posted general instructions, verbal instructions, and have the ability to complete required documentation. The Operator must monitor for and detect faulty machine operation, defective materials and/or process problems and communicate issues clearly to the supervisor. What You Will Do Demonstrate a working knowledge of the extrusion line/equipment, including control panel(s), payoffs, take-ups/traversing systems, capstans, water troughs, compound feed hoppers and accumulators or tensioning systems. Mount reels, thread product through tensioners, accumulators, tensioning systems, metering capstans, head, water troughs to take-ups. Ensure proper selection of tips, dies and print (if required). Set gears, ratios and heats to required specifications. Attend to machine during operation, making adjustments to tension settings, line speed, and dimensions as necessary. Change payoff and take-up reels as required. Perform extrusion line tasks in conformance with manufacturing instruction sheets SAP Inspections. Verify product size, lengths and required compounds are correct. Capable of reading and understanding measurement devices such as: micrometers, calipers, etc. Complete documentation, compound lot and batch records, length sheets, traveler reel tags, traceability sheets/tags and labor reporting sheets. Process inspection, daily run logs.
