Job Title: Nurse Practitioner Intern

Department: Medical Services

Reports To: Nurse Practitioner

**This is an unpaid internship

The Nurse Practitioner intern is responsible for completing required hours of internship. Intern will log hours into the universities tracking system. Intern will not deliver care or document within D. A. Blodgett-St. Johns documentation system.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensed to practice as a Nurse in the State of Michigan. Enrolled in a college/University psychiatric certification program. Comprehensive knowledge and well-developed skills in pharmacology and treatment of mental illness. Extensive knowledge of the etiology of serious mental illness, intellectual disabilities, developmental, and substance abuse disorders and their treatment by a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions including psychopharmacology; nursing practice and medical evaluation, physical diseases, and their treatment; community resources and networking techniques; and of psychiatric and medical emergency stabilization. Valid driver's license Ability to work with people of various cultures both within and outside the Agency and able to promote a positive image for the Agency in the community and in relationship with other agencies and their personnel.
