Under the direction of the Manager of Events, the Senior Event Specialist is responsible for all stages of development, planning, directing and executing assigned events of the Henry Ford Health System Office of Public Relations & Marketing including fundraising events in collaboration with the Development Office. The Event Specialist also is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with committee volunteers, corporate partners and vendors. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serve as the lead event planner ensuring each event is developed, planned and executed enhancing the brand and reputation of Henry Ford Health. * Develop project plans and budgets. * Build and maintain relationships with key internal customers as well as donors and vendors. * Takes active role in department work teams and assists where/when needed. * Performs other responsibilities or assignments as required. Work Environment Work will include some physical labor such as packing and moving items/materials, lifting materials/products/signage, etc From the Hiring manager: "Corporate and/or nonprofit event planning experience, able to lead a team of volunteers, collaboration with community partners, maintain budget." EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in public relations, Communications, Hospitality, or related field OR Seven or more years of experience in event planning, marketing, or fundraising required in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. At least three or more years previous event planning experience. Raisers Edge experience is preferred. Strong, documented record of success in special events management, with evidence of working successfully with boards, volunteers and/or event committees. Strong project management, communication, team building and organizational skills. Additional Information
