Summary

The Lift Truck Operator (LTO) position is responsible for the daily processes of the Minneapolis warehouse. Working in a team environment, LTOs ensure all freight is loaded or unloaded in compliance with safety and operating procedures accurately and efficiently.

Shift: 8am-4pm (M-F)

Pay Rate: 24.14 (Hourly)

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations




  • Load and unload finished product and any related raw materials
  • Verify inbound load quantities for accuracy
  • Complete regular quality inspections
  • Navigate the warehouse yard, organized by product
  • Operate a lift truck in a safe, productive manner
  • Refill LP tanks
  • Perform common labor and janitorial tasks
  • Maintain standard housekeeping of the warehouse and lift trucks
  • Perform inventory counts


  • Assist other plant personnel as needed
  • Any other task as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor



Safety




  • Complete annual safety training
  • Fix and report all unsafe work conditions
  • Notify Plant Leader in the case of any accident, near miss, or on-the-job injury



SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee should hold the following abilities:




  • Good communication skills
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Some knowledge of all raw materials
  • Knowledge of finished product
  • Ability to work with truck drivers in a positive and courteous manner
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and shuttle truck



COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE




  • High School Diploma or equivalent



ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT




  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Work for up to 8 hours in extreme hot/cold outdoor environment
  • Operate/sit/drive, as required during shift work lasting 8-12 hours.
  • Routinely ascend and descend stairs and forklift to enter work areas
  • Ability to rotate or work overtime as necessary
