Summary of Job:

The Reimbursement Support Specialist will be an integral role in the Patient Support Program. The role will primarily focus on the investigation of patients' benefits, intake of Program forms, and support the team with daily administrative tasks. The Reimbursement Support Specialist will work closely with Case Managers to facilitate the patient onboarding process.

Essential Functions:



  • Contact payers to understand patient insurance benefits - medical and pharmacy benefits - for Kyowa Kirin products
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert on payer requirements for Kyowa Kirin Products
  • Complete the data entry process of all documents received into the Support Program
  • Triage documents to appropriate parties based on defined business rules and requirements
  • Support the Case Manager team with daily administrative tasks
  • Works closely with Case Managers to assist with complex reimbursement cases
  • Communicates with pharmacies and distribution partners to track cases, and shipments, and troubleshoot issues
  • Successfully deliver upon program goals, including pre-defined KPIs
  • Identifies trends regarding reimbursement delays, patient concerns, etc., and reports to Management
  • Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings; recognizes opportunities for improvement, brings solutions to any barriers


Job Requirements:

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required


Experience:



  • Reimbursement experience required; detailed understanding of medical and pharmacy benefits across all payer types
  • 2+ years of industry experience in pharmaceutical or biotech Patient Services
  • Proven success in a fast-paced environment
  • Patient-focused


Technical Skills



  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Benefits investigations and payer relations
  • Superior data entry skills; ensuring quality and accuracy


Non-Technical Skills

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change the course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A strong work ethic is required. Detail-oriented and excellent follow-through. Has the ability to flex and deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-growth environment. Has a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization.
