Job Details
Position Summary: Registration Supervisor reports to the Manager of the Emergency Medicine Department. Supervises work activities of subordinates engaged in registration and billing of patients, which includes training, evaluating and counseling employees. Schedules and assigns work to ensure proper staffing and uninterrupted patient service. Assists in the development of policies and procedures; functions as resource person for department. Duties and responsibilities may vary by assigned area, but the following are characteristic of this classification. Competencies: A. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred. B. Knowledge: Knowledge of department policies and procedures, work routines, materials and equipment used in area generally acquired during nine to twelve months on-the-job experience. C. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is required within one year of hire date. (Training can be provided.) Analytical ability to do performance planning for subordinates and to assist in development of sound policies and procedures for area of responsibility. Interpersonal skills sufficient to direct the work activities of up to five nonexempt employees and to resolve patient complaints and problems. D. Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.: None. E. Work Experience Two years of supervising, patient care, and registration experience preferred. F. Applications, Machines, Tools, Equipment: Fax machine, computers, Xerox machine, and other standard office equipment. Salary Range: Minimum $21.21/hour - Maximum $37.12/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
