We are seeking anInternal Communication Specialistwho will be responsible for supporting internal communication strategies that advance the Associations' vision, business plans and culture. This position will work with their internal communications peers and leader to develop communication programs that engage, inform and inspire teammates and leaders throughout the Associations. This position helps the Associations build a distinctive brand from the inside out by developing communications that nurture a value- and team-based culture; by helping teammates understand and align with the organization's mission, priorities and direction; and by celebrating teammates' contributions to the Associations' success. The incumbent will develop and maintain strong working relationships with the internal stakeholders, assigned senior leader internal communication clients, and functional teams in both a tactical and consultative role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Incumbent will be asked to focus on the following specialty areas:

    • Executive, Leadership and Change Communications

      • In partnership with the Vice President Communications and Mission Enablement, recommend, draft, edit and publish to teammates communications from key executives that seeks to inspire desired business outcomes.
      • Supports and executes executive visibility and engagement strategy focused on Executive Leadership Team to enhance organization's ability to deliver business results and create a great working environment and strong culture.
      • Supports communication needs of Associations' change management efforts.
      • Together with senior leaders, project managers and key stakeholders plans and executes internal communications about the vision and decisions regarding corporate initiatives and imperatives.
      • Supports and provides input on Leadership communication strategies.
      • Builds relationships to facilitate shared meaning and proper application of internal marketing and communications tactics in line with the Associations' strategic objectives and business goals.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cont.

  • Internal Communication Specialization

    • In partnership with Vice President Communications & Mission Enablement, works with functional and cross-functional teams to coordinate the direction, design and production of a variety of internal communication projects and materials while ensuring consistency with corporate brand standards.
    • Coordinates and maintains internal communication philosophies, guidelines and procedures.
    • Consults with teams and leaders to identify communication needs and recommends appropriate plans and tactics to support business objectives. Develops content and themes for internal communications and provides direction to outside vendors and agencies.
    • Writes and edits content for internal communications that reflect a consistent overall tone while reinforcing the Associations' culture.
    • Coordinates day-to-day management of internal communications and serves as internal communications advisor by applying best practices. Measures effectiveness of internal communications through periodic audits, reader surveys, and focus groups.
    • Creates materials that update and inform teammates through a variety of communication tools/mechanisms.
    • Leads the planning and development of periodic publications, reports, and town hall meetings, both virtual and in person.


  • Additional functions of the position that are performed in partnership with other internal communications and/or Organization Enablement teammates may include:

    • Coordinating the production and design of HR recruiting materials and other multimedia assets that communicate and celebrate the organization's culture and employee experience.
    • Support for planning and execution of the annual Leader Conference including development of themes, executive presentations, team activities, and guest speakers.
    • Collaboration with Organizational Development, Community Impact, and Meetings and Events teams.
