Description

GAI's Community Solutions Group is seeking a Project Manager with ~8-10 years of experience in its Orlando office responsible for leading and planning public sector projects, with an emphasis on parks and recreation system planning. Our parks and public realm practice collaborates with all aspects of our Community Solutions Group service group as well as other departments at GAI Consultants. This position is eligible for our flexible hybrid work schedules and a sign-on bonus.

The specic duties of this position include:



  • Support sales and client management for existing and new public sector clients.
  • Work with other senior leadership to support and execute GAI's multi-disciplined efforts including civil engineering, landscape architecture, and urban analytics.


  • Project Management: Develop cost estimates, manage budgets, oversee subcontractors and production staff, and manage public sector clients.
  • Contribute to GAI's public profile by actively participating in leadership roles in the community and/or professional organizations.
  • Plan Parks and Public Spaces: Assist with the planning of park and recreation system master plans, and site-specific plans for parks, trails, playgrounds, and public spaces.
  • Lead and support public meetings, including public speaking.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct surveys and analyses to determine the best use of public land and inventory for park system plans
  • Produce narratives for inclusion in parks and recreation system plans and/or to describe site specific master plans, including technical reports.
  • Participate in the management of park and recreation system plans for public sector projects.
  • Innovation and Research: Participate in the development of new parks, public realm and open space planning techniques and stay updated on environmental regulations and trends.
  • Participate in teams and project meetings.
  • Some travel is required, mostly driving within the State of Florida (up to 15%).


Qualifications:



  • Bachelors or better in LA, planning, public administration, parks management or related fields
  • CPRP/CPRE, AICP, PLA or related certification or the ability to obtain is preferred.
  • Self-starter with a passion for research, analysis, and problem solving and attention to detail
  • Experience or ability to learn Adobe Creative Suite; Wix. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, strong written and communication skills, experience with comprehensive planning and public budgeting preferred.
