Position Title: Corporate Development and M&A Analyst

Reports To: SVP Corporate Development

Schedule: Monday through Friday business hours and additional as required

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, or Jacksonville, FL.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field

Experience:

3-4 years of experience in:

  • Investment Banking (M&A, leveraged finance, restructuring) at a boutique or middle-market firm
  • Private Equity (lower/middle market buyout, growth equity, or infrastructure investing)
  • Transaction Advisory Services (M&A advisory, valuations, or financial due diligence)

Proven experience in financial modeling and valuation

Skills

Financial Modeling & Valuation:

  • Advanced proficiency in DCF, LBO, and merger models, with the ability to develop and interpret complex valuation analyses.
  • Strong understanding of capital structures, debt financing, and return analyses (IRR, MOIC, sensitivity analysis).

M&A & Investment Execution:

  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, with a strong focus on investment modeling.
  • Ability to synthesize financial and operational diligence findings into actionable investment theses.

Presentation & Executive Communication:

  • PowerPoint expertise-the ability to prepare investment memos, management presentations, and executive materials in a concise, visually compelling manner.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior executives and external advisors (bankers, consultants, attorneys) to present findings and make strategic recommendations.

Market & Industry Research:

  • Experience monitoring market trends, transaction comps, and valuation multiples to inform strategic decisions.

Traits

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • Industry experience in maritime, logistics, energy, transportation, or other capital-intensive industries is a plus but not required.
  • Prior exposure to infrastructure investing, project finance, or asset-heavy business models is beneficial.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This role is designed for a high-performing investment banking analyst (boutique or middle market) or a private equity associate with 3-4 years of experience looking to transition into corporate development and M&A. The ideal candidate is someone with strong deal execution experience, financial modeling expertise (DCF, LBO, and accretion/dilution), and a strategic mindset who wants to work directly with executives on mergers and acquisitions, and strategic investments. Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Financial Modeling & Valuation:
    • Build and maintain DCF, LBO, and merger models to evaluate potential acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments.
    • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess risks and upside potential.
  • M&A & Investment Execution:
    • Develop investment memos, executive presentations, and financial analyses to support executive decision-making.
    • Interface with investment banks, private equity firms, and advisors on potential transactions.
  • Strategic & Market Research:
    • Monitor industry transactions, market movements, and new business opportunities.
  • Executive Support & Presentation Development:
    • Prepare high-impact presentations and materials for executive meetings.
    • Provide strategic insights and financial analyses to support corporate decision-making.
