The Senior Estimator takes the lead in evaluating and estimating project costs for manufacturer/distributor to government agencies, construction contractors, industrial establishments, etc., by analyzing proposals and specifications. Responsible for searching various bid advertisement sites as well as registering Econolite with agency bid lists for states within the assigned sales territory.

DUTIES

  • Assist and or prepare bids by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents for the Sales team for review and/or approval.
  • Accumulate, evaluate, review, and update file systems, procedures, and methods to maintain current estimating standards and databases.
  • Assist in providing appropriate order documentation as requested and responding to customer order inquiries and other project management requirements.
  • Provide local Account Managers with information on bid/quote activity prior to submittal.
  • Coordinate bid/quote activity with account managers and sales leadership.
  • Interpret project plan sheets, bid documents, engineering documents, and/or special provisions.
  • Ensure opportunities are reported/captured in CRM
  • Ensure Bid Research is done by the estimating team daily to include Bid engines, Agency Budgets, and CIP.
  • Work with Junior Estimators in training and coordination of daily activities.
  • Work directly with the contractor market with face-to-face meetings and relationship-building activities.
  • Post-sale, Project Management, and coordination with Contractors, Manufacturing, and Account Managers.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to 7+ years of related work experience.
  • Must have a clear understanding of and ability to work with plan sheets, bid documents, engineering documents, and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer software skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications, such as MS Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated and strong commitment to teamwork.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT
