JOB SUMMARY: Provide supervision and direction to department staff. Function as a technical expert who supervises the daily operations in the department and addresses issues as they pertain to trouble shooting, quality control, production scheduling, training, equipment maintenance and general daily supervision of your department. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive verbal or written instructions from Production manager and communicate back information as needed Read and understand job traveler and utilize computer job tracking system First article of inspection on all finishing operations Provide shipping with completed job orders Maintain efficiency and quality benchmarks per MPI standards Provide feedback to planning via ECN General machine maintenance Ensure that employee training is given as required for your employees to succeed Maintain organized and clean work environment Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety improved product quality better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop costs or employee's health Practice safe working habits as detailed in the Company Safety Manual and Employee Handbook KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Communicate daily with Production Manager, finishing staff about scheduled jobs. Report back to Production Manager any problems that will delay the job EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
