Day Services Assistant | Full-Time | M-F 8:30a-3:30p | St Peter MN.

The Day Services Assistant is responsible for providing a positive, stable environment with stimulating activities for Adult Day Services (ADS) clients. This position is responsible for making ADS clients feel comfortable in their environment while supervising activities of daily living, including transferring, ambulation and transportation.

Opportunity Details:



  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30a-3:30p. No weekends or holidays!
  • Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $17.50 - $19.75 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities:



  1. Assists the Day Services Supervisor with implementing the daily programming, set-up and implementation of scheduled activities including special outings.
  2. Assists clients with personal care including toileting, showers, and meals. Assists with transfers of all clients requiring assistance. Participates in a team approach to providing individualized quality care.
  3. Supervises clients and volunteers in the absence of the Day Services Supervisor. Ensures the safety of all clients and staff in the Day Center by tracking and monitoring the location of each client.
  4. Documents progress of clients according to State, Federal and Day Living laws, procedures and policies.
  5. Provides opportunities for clients to participate as their abilities allow such as assisting with pushing client wheelchairs to and from special events and assistance with meal preparation in the day center.
  6. Reports to Day Services Supervisor any significant observations or changes in client needs or abilities.
  7. Assists Day Services Supervisor with cleaning of Day Center to ensure clients are in a well-maintained, clean environment.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations



Preferred Qualifications:



  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Alzheimer's/Dementia training
  • Experience working with Seniors
  • Certification as Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Attendant
