Summary
Responsible for overseeing a team of respiratory therapists. This role involves providing guidance, support, and training to team members, as well as ensuring that they are providing high-quality respiratory care to patients. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Hires, trains, and supervises respiratory therapists, including setting performance standards, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations. -Ensures that respiratory therapists are providing appropriate care to patients, and that care is consistent with established protocols and guidelines. -Monitors the quality of care provided by the team, and takes steps to address any deficiencies or issues that arise. -Oversee the maintenance and repair of respiratory therapy equipment, and ensure that equipment is functioning properly. -Manages the budget for respiratory therapy services, and ensures that resources are allocated properly. -Maintains accurate records of patient care and other administrative tasks related to respiratory therapy services. Education Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy required or Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Registered Respiratory Therapist [RRT] - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred Neonatal Resuscitation Certification [NRP] - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred Respiratory Therapist [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care preferred Respiratory Care Practitioner [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Experience working as a respiratory therapist 5-7 years required and Experience in a supervisory or management role 2-3 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system. - Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment. - Proficiency in performing basic respiratory care interventions such as oxygen therapy and airway management. - Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress. - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues. - Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
