Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Instruction, the Director (V) of Dual Enrollment and Early College Programs will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for Sacramento City College's efforts to advance dual enrollment and pre-college programming, focusing on equity and seamless transitions from high school to college in established general and career education pathways. The director will oversee daily operations of the Office of Dual Enrollment and serve as the primary administrator for dual enrollment and pre-college initiatives. The Director will be responsible for the design, implementation, evaluation, and budgeting of dual enrollment and early college programs and services, ensuring compliance with district policies, legislative mandates, and institutional goals. This role will focus on building a sustainable, equitable infrastructure to support dual enrollment, early college programs, and pathways for adult learners, justice-involved youths, and disproportionately impacted populations. The Director will collaborate with faculty, administrators, classified professionals, K-12 partners, and community stakeholders to align general education and career pathways, ensuring high-quality, accessible programs that facilitate educational access and equity. The Director will also drive the establishment of memorandums (MOU's) and integrated career pathways. Additionally, the Director will assist with securing grant funding, track dual enrollment outcomes, and coordinate professional development. Through collaboration with key campus departments and external partners, the Director will advance both college-wide and district-wide goals for student success and equitable educational opportunities through dual enrollment.


Typical Duties

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Directing early college program activities to scale with consideration to instruction, instructional supports, and strategic enrollment management.
  • Establishing a process for enrollment that adheres to the California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 55005, while maximizing productivity.
  • Managing all administrative, budgetary, contracting, compliance, and reporting aspects for the life of the federal Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Early College Program grant.
  • Developing, administering, fiscal managing, reporting, and overseeing budgets (e.g. Student Equity and Achievement Program (SEAP), Strong Workforce Program (SWP).
  • Collecting and reporting data needed for dual enrollment in partnership with the Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness (PRIE) office.
  • Collaborating with faculty, deans, program managers, and other college, district, and area partners to build General Education (GE) and Continuing Education (CE) dual enrollment pathways at the college.
  • Assisting with development, updates, and submission of MOU's and Course Agreements.
  • Providing general dual enrollment and scheduling updates and deadlines to campus and high school partners.
  • Assisting with identifying fall/spring courses and enrollment projections to ascertain course level demand for dual enrollment.
  • Working with center dean and other key stakeholders on middle college efforts, and evaluating/planning other middle college opportunities.
  • Providing orientation and supporting instructors, facilitators, partners, and team members as needed to ensure quality programming.
  • Serve as liaison between school, district, and county offices of education partners and instructional deans to support faculty.
  • Ensuring appropriate services are provided to students in compliance with district and state regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Providing oversight and coordination in finalized course enrollments and textbook orders.
  • Identifying, producing, and updating needed documents, resources, and reports.
  • Coordinating bi-annual planning retreats and reciprocal professional development opportunities for dual enrollment staff.
  • Coordinating and consulting with the district Dual Enrollment Director and Los Rios Community College District (LRCCD) campus leads on resources, initiatives and grants as appropriate.
  • Researching and assessing the feasibility of other early college advancement models for purposes of programmatic innovation and future replication.
  • Holding weekly meetings with college staff and attending monthly meetings with local and/or district leadership.
  • Working independently under limited supervision.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution completed by June 1, 2025.
  2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
  3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
