Job Summary:

The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit provides comprehensive care for critical ill children and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. The unit cares for pre-term infants, neonates with complex disease, all age children, and the adult congenital population. The unit is committed to service excellence and a model of interdisciplinary care.
- 34 total beds.
- Dedicated pediatric cardiac-specialized nurses.
- CPCU attendings and vital core of advanced care providers.
- Active mechanical assist program.
- Active member and participant in PC3.
- Extensive opportunities for clinical, translational, and acute care registries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides care for patients admitted to the CPCU. These patients are admitted through the CHC emergency department, transferred from outside institutions, direct admissions, and transfers from the CICU.
- Experience and familiarity with heart disease in patients from neonates to adults with congenital heart disease.
- Supervision of patient care and progression in partnership with Advanced Practice Providers, pediatric cardiology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students.
- Partnership with cardiology nursing leadership and bedside nurses.
- Develop, implement and promote educational and support resources.
- Participate in PAC3 multi-institutional database and liaison with like institutions and units.
- Develop clinical guideline pathways and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board Certified in Pediatrics.
- Board Eligible/Certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $231,000-260,000. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
