Temporary Photography & Media Studio Technician
APPLY The College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (Cornell AAP) at Cornell University is seeking a temporary photography & media studio technician for the period of late May, to early November. The Photography and Media Studios position supports the teaching mission of the Art Department through work in the Photography and MAPS (Media Arts, Performance and Sound) Studios. This role assists with the DIM (digital imaging) lab, Fine Art Print Center, sound studio, multiple darkrooms, lighting studio, and equipment cage. Primary responsibilities include equipment maintenance and repair, and supporting teaching and research through classroom instruction and one-on-one mentoring of faculty and students on hardware, software and methodologies of digital and photographic technology. This position teaches proper equipment use, explains college policies and procedures, and creates museum quality fine art inkjet prints for faculty and students through the Fine Arts Print Center. This position schedules the availability and function of art studios for academic and research use. They prepare, and perform safety demonstrations to faculty, and lab users. They will assist in the training and implementing safety programs of student monitor teams who support the various areas within the art studios. Schedule is 40 hours per week, fully onsite.
