ACARA Solutions and our client in Manassas, VA have 2 contract-to-direct hire positions available (client will hire after 90 days) Sr. Test & Evaluation Engineering Support Specialist Must have experience with one of the following skills: the AN/BLQ-10, AN/BYG-1, Submarine Weapon Launchers, or AN/BQQ-10 systems. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
- As a CWL Test & Evaluation Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the success of our projects.
- Collaborating with CWL and MTWS engineers to conduct testing and integration.
- Employing a professional and confident approach when working with various engineering groups within the client and external entities to define, document, analyze, conduct, and interpret tests.
- Identifying functional issues and proposing effective resolutions.
- Operating in a fast-paced, integrated product development team comprising professionals from multiple contracting organizations and DoD laboratory entities.
- Developing and analyzing test cases while providing regular progress updates.
- Reporting to a supervisor or manager, demonstrating high autonomy in your work.
- Crafting comprehensive test procedures.
- Proficiently utilizing electrical measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Conducting Verification and Validation for corrective changes.
- Performing installations, rip-outs, testing, and validation of tactical systems.
- Assisting in configuring the lab with relevant drawings and port maps.
- Supporting informal and formal test events and other customer-driven test activities.
- Identifying, analyzing, and documenting software, firmware, and hardware defects and collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Occasional travel to submarine home ports for Field Services activities.
- Supporting the Logistics team in the development of installation and operation procedures.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in software testing and analysis.
- Minimum of 4 years experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Minimum of 4 years experience with AN/BLQ-10, AN/BYG-1, Submarine Weapon Launchers, or AN/BQQ-10 systems.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- General knowledge of network configurations, operations, and commands.
- Navy or Submarine experience.
- Solid knowledge of use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
- Solid knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes, and scripting languages.
- Openly proposes ideas that enhance productivity and efficiency, solicits input, and optimizes solutions.
- Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments.
