- Estimated annual base pay: $73.520.00 (minimum) - $91,900.00 (midpoint) - $110,280.00 (maximum)
Level 2:
- Estimated annual base pay: $87,600.00 (minimum) - $109,500.00 (midpoint) - $131,400.00 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Controls Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Controls Engineer (Level 1 or 2) reports to Technical Leadership and whose focus is performing design and support of low to moderate complexity controls systems and equipment. This position requires a moderate level of supervision; complex work is still reviewed by a more senior engineer. In addition, this level may participate in project-specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals or organizations. What You Will Be Doing Level 1:
- Works assigned tasks to meet schedule and may coordinate details with other departments.
- Recognizes problems that are beyond capabilities and is learning from the experts in the area.
- Implements automated equipment design projects with industry best practices for machine safety, ergonomics, and efficiency/product yields with direct supervision.
- Performs routine functions that require application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
- Designs, supports and tests low complexity controls and automation systems and equipment. Ensures designs meet useability and supportability criteria.
- Applies industry best practices for machine safety, ergonomics, and efficiency/product yield.
- Supports the manufacturing floor for any controls related questions
- Ability to program and deploy basic HMIs
- Ability to understand and create basic electrical schematics and 3D models
Level 2:
- Designs, supports and tests low to moderate complexity controls and automation systems and equipment. Ensures designs meet usability and supportability criteria.
- Implements automated equipment design projects with industry best practices for machine safety, ergonomics, and efficiency/product yields.
- Possibly guides/directs a Level 1 Engineer or technician.
- Supports the manufacturing floor for any controls related questions and trains other members on use of controls technology.
- Ability to program and deploy basic HMIs
- Ability to understand and create electrical schematics and 3D models
- Analyze system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control solutions into larger systems
- Provide technical documentation and training for system operators
What We Are Looking For Level 1:
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences
- Internship in related industry
- May provide repair and maintenance support of controls systems.
- May fabricate controls systems as required with direction.
- General knowledge of PLCs and automation. Implements system automation solutions with direction.
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and 3D models.
- General knowledge; basic understanding of component function and testing. Learning manufacturing and controls processes, tools, and standards.
- General knowledge of data acquisition hardware and associated programming.
- General knowledge of robotics, vision systems, linear actuators, servos, VFDs, motion control, motor control.
- Basic understanding of communication protocol, EIP, OPC-UA, knowledge of relational and historical databasing, industrial networking and network interface, remote access and entry points.
Level 2:
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences
- Basic Six Sigma tools knowledge
- 1+ years of experience in related field or entry level Master of Science degree required
- Basic engineering knowledge; basic understanding of component function and testing. Learning manufacturing and controls processes, tools, and standards.
- Basic working knowledge of data acquisition hardware and associated programming.
- Basic working knowledge of robotics, vision systems, linear actuators, servos, VFDs, motion control, motor control.
- Basic understanding of communication protocol, EIP, OPC-UA, knowledge of relational and historical databasing, industrial networking and network interface, remote access and entry points.
