Director of Operations - Volleyball

The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director's Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department's guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

The Director of Operations for volleyball reports to the head coach and assists with all aspects of the volleyball program including but not limited to: team travel, on-campus recruiting, match day planning and operations, supervision of student employees, organization and conduct of special events, donor relations, and promotion of the program and all its related events. The Director of Operations will work directly with the coaching staff and sport administrators to support the successful operation and development of the volleyball program within University, ACC, and NCAA rules.

Minimum of a bachelor's degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities; specific minimum experience is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.

Thorough knowledge of the sport of volleyball; strong interpersonal communications skills; knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations required. Must have a valid NC Driver's license.

Prefer strong computer skills and experience working in an intercollegiate athletics environment.

May be required to lift/move 25 lbs or greater. May be required to navigate stairs. Must be able to manage a fast-paced, high volume work environment. Attention to detail essential. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as required. Travel required.
