State Department Federal Credit Union is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Lending Systems Business Analyst to join our team! This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our loan origination system by coordinating and monitoring its technical software and hardware deployed to end users. As the primary liaison between SDFCU and its lending system vendors, the Lending Systems Business Analyst facilitates seamless communication and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include front-line system administration and support via email, phone, and in-person interactions with employees and the loan origination system. This individual will troubleshoot and resolve system issues, assist with project management research, and support system implementation and administration. Additionally, this role involves responding to employee inquiries, providing necessary information, and assisting members and potential members in understanding and utilizing the Credit Union's products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, tests, installs, and modifies SDFCU lending systems and applications.
  • Evaluates and tests vendor-supplied software packages to determine compatibility with existing systems, ease of use and maintenance, and suitability for organizational needs.
  • Consults with users to determine best hardware and software configurations to meet requirements.
  • Enters commands into PC or network to place new applications in production status and upgrade existing applications.
  • Acts a first point of contact for SDFCU team members related to programs and system usability before escalating to outside vendor.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves system problems through a tracking and resolution system.
  • Implements and coordinates application policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assists with system updates, equipment issues, etc.
  • Assists in basic system training for accessing and using SDFCU lending systems.
  • Coordinates and assists third party vendors on installation of systems, software, patches, and enforces security procedures
  • Is the primary liaison between the credit union and outside vendors supporting credit union operations.
  • Is the internal technical/subject expert for the loan systems and serves as support on special projects. May create reports as needed.
  • Performs programming in the lending systems, FICS, and Episys core platform to include creating minor programs, patches, or system interfaces as needed to assist end users or enhance system capability.
  • Creates special reports or work arounds requested by the management or staff.
  • Performs system administration to include ensuring the lending and other related systems operate efficiently and without error, troubleshooting inefficiencies with the providers, and helping to restore functionality.
  • Maintains and ensures databases are routinely backed-up, and organizational data for reporting is accurate and secure.
  • Performs regular audits to identify system inefficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned such as Network Administration, Technical Support, Database Administration and/or System Administration as assigned by the Managing Director.
  • Improves financial performance by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Responsible for managing and supporting all phases of the financial planning process and tracking and reporting results for the various lines of loan products.
  • Analyzes financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models for decision support.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related coursework preferred. Additional years of related experience may be substituted for a degree. Previous programming, troubleshooting and problem resolution experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of systems, programming and/or database administration experience, preferably in a financial institution. Previous experience with MeridianLink, FICS, and Episys (Symitar) core system highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, telephone, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills essential to computers, network systems and software.
  • Effective member service skills. Exceptional people skills and team orientation.
  • Ability to comprehend and perform duties independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously and produce the desired results.
