We are proud and excited to offer summer internships for 2025 across several of our different office locations andare currently seekinga Engineering Intern to join our team in Seattle. Our teams focus on projects including small and fast energy retrofits, data centers, large scale new construction, and strategic decarbonization efforts for campuses.

Our B.L.U.E.(Build, Learn, Understand, Enrich)Summer Internship Program is purposefully designed to inspire your imagination and help you guide your career with purpose. You'll be an integral part of McKinstry with hands-on experience, mentorship and a healthy dose of fun. Our program delivers depth and real experience so that you can truly evaluate potential career paths within the work we do.

What we lookfor in our Engineering Interns:

  • Must be pursuing or have a degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field. Sophomore student standing or higher required.
  • Availability in Summer 2025 (May/June start until August/September depending on school); part-time work after the summer is possible
  • Strong interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and decarbonization
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about building systems, construction, and the built environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with engineering software or modeling tools such as Revit or Rhino is a plus
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

What our Engineering Interns do:

  • Support project teams with research, documentation, and analysis across various engineering disciplines
  • Assist in reviewing technical data, drawings, and specifications
  • Participate in field walks, team meetings, and design reviews
  • Help track project progress, action items, and schedules
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including efforts related to factory electrification
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on meaningful assignments
  • Take on special projects aligned with current business needs

The hourly rate for this role is $24/hr.
